Inside Our China Sheet Metal Factory: Capability, Quality and Export Readiness

Overseas buyers sourcing from a China sheet metal factory usually ask the same three questions before placing an order: what can the plant actually make, how is quality controlled, and what happens between the last inspection and the container. This update sets out where Vurain Precision stands on each of them.

Manufacturing Capability

Our China sheet metal factory operates an integrated route rather than a chain of subcontractors, which keeps lead time and dimensional responsibility in one place:

  • Fiber laser cutting up to 6 kW, handling stainless steel to 20 mm, aluminum to 16 mm and mild steel to 25 mm
  • CNC press brake forming with dedicated tooling for repeat batches and quick changeover for prototypes
  • MIG, TIG and projection welding, with fixture design controlling distortion on large frames
  • CNC machining for critical bores, flatness on mounting faces and precision tapped holes
  • Powder coating, brushing, passivation and anodizing, with masking planned at the drawing stage
  • Insert pressing, assembly, labeling and protective packaging completed in house

Materials routinely processed include 304 and 316L stainless steel, 5052 and 6061 aluminum, HSLA and cold-rolled steel, and copper alloys. Mill certificates are retained for every batch and released with the shipment.

Engineering Review Before Quotation

Every inquiry is reviewed by an engineer before a price is issued. The review covers bend feasibility and minimum radius, hole-to-edge distances, weld access and distortion risk, tolerance classification, surface treatment compatibility and assembly sequence. Where a design can be simplified without affecting function, we return the suggestion together with the quotation. This step is the main reason our first articles tend to fit on the first attempt rather than the third.

Quality Control

Inspection is planned per project rather than applied generically:

  • Incoming material verification against grade, thickness and certificate
  • In-process checks at cutting, bending and welding, with first-off approval before the batch runs
  • First article inspection with dimensional reports against the customer drawing
  • CMM measurement on functional features; general dimensions held to ISO 2768-m
  • Coating thickness, adhesion and salt spray verification where specified
  • IP testing on sealed enclosures, including water spray and pressure decay

Control plans and inspection frequency are agreed with the customer before series production starts, so the per-piece cost and the documentation package are both predictable.

Export Readiness

Shipping is treated as part of the product. Brushed and coated surfaces receive protective film, interleaving or individual bagging. Export orders are packed in fumigation-free crates with custom labeling, and documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, material certificates, dimensional reports and, where required, RoHS or REACH declarations. Large enclosures are designed for flat-pack shipping with bolted field assembly when that reduces freight cost.

Working With Us

Buyers can start with a prototype order to validate fit and finish before committing to volume, and we support blanket orders with scheduled releases for programs that need stable unit pricing across the year. Factory audits, either in person or by video walkthrough of the production line, can be arranged on request.

Send us your drawings with material grade, quantity, finish and target delivery date, and our engineering team will respond within 24 hours with an itemized quotation and DFM feedback. Visit our factory page for the full process route, or request a quote to start a project.
